“If you’re an optometry student, optometrist, or any eye care professional, I would highly recommend checking out @optazoom on Instagram and Facebook! There are so many of us out there providing insightful thoughts and questions through posts in this group, and it’s such a wonderful place to connect with others amongst the optometry community 👁 thank you OptaZoom for creating this group!”

“I’m really enjoying the OZ Group so far! Not only have I learned a lot from other members, it has given me insight into the realities of being a working optometrist which is rare sometimes as a student. I have recommended a bunch of my optometry classmates at NECO to join the group. I think the surprise giveaway is a great idea to engage students and build the optometry student community!”

"I’ve watched the most recent videos with Dr. Brasfield, but I also took time to watch her previous videos from last year. As a student, I highly appreciate the topics that are being discussed because as up to right now, I haven’t learned about practice management in school (and not sure if I will). As a 2nd year, it’s really great to start hearing business terms to become familiar with them."

"The OZ group has been very informative and having a network to reach out to these well-informed doctors has been very helpful. Hopefully in a few years, I can help the future generations of ODs and provide some helpful knowledge for them down the road."

"I really enjoy OZ group because of the diversity it has. There are many students as well as practicing doctors inquiring and helping each other. The topics aren’t strictly one category. There’s a vast amount of topics being discussed whether it’s finance, navigating life as a student, being a new grad, etc. Other Facebook groups can get overwhelming with the same stuff being posted or people arguing and not being professional. OZ group stands out from the other group pages. It has been a guide and resource for me while transiting from being a student to now practicing as a full time doctor. It has given me helpful advice to navigate the transition in my career and has helped me grow professionally. It feels like an open space to speak out whatever is on your mind without being scared of how people will respond."

"OZ Group is an incredible community, especially as a student. Everyone is genuinely supportive and always willing to help us students and young ODs. The discussions are professional and insightful, making it a valuable resource for learning and growth. I highly recommend it to any student or OD who shares the same positive and collaborative mindset."

"I can’t say enough good things about the OZ Group! As a second-year optometry student, this group has been an incredible resource for me. It’s helped me connect with other doctors and professionals in the field, giving me access to invaluable insights, advice, and resources that have made my journey in optometry so much smoother. Whether it’s discussions about clinical cases, practice management tips, or career advice, the OZ Group fosters a supportive and knowledgeable community. It’s been instrumental in broadening my perspective and helping me grow both personally and professionally. If you’re in the field of optometry or aspiring to be, I highly recommend joining this group—it’s a goldmine of support and opportunities!"
